State Fair of Texas
Livestock Show

Helping Big Tex inform and promote the premier 24-day livestock event

Overview

The State Fair of Texas, held annually each fall, is a premier livestock show. Over 16,000 livestock exhibitors from around the state travel to Dallas, Texas, to exhibit all species of livestock, from cattle to chickens and llamas to goats competing for champion honors. Exhibitor communication for a show of this size is no small task. Creating communications plans, from texting to brochures, is crucial to informing exhibitors about key times and assisting the office staff to help facilitate a successful show.

A calendar is created each year as a resource for County Extension Agents and Agricultural Science Teachers. It is handed out during summer conferences.
Show superintendents utilize stall Cards to assign pens/stalls and provide important show information to exhibitors upon arrival. Stall cards also invite exhibitors to use our texting service for real-time information.
