Cultivating Growth for 15 Years
In 2010 Cultivate was born out of a simple idea: that marketing could be rooted in purpose, relationships, and a deep understanding of agriculture.
Our founder, Anne Kimmey, combined her experience in ag communications, marketing, and event strategy—and a desire to take a different path—to plant something new. Something that would grow into a full-service agency committed to helping food, farm, and rural lifestyle brands tell their stories with authenticity and impact.
The goal was to build an agency around the people first—our clients and team—and letting our team’s expertise and skills take the lead for growth together. Cultivate succeeds when our clients succeed. We aren’t satisfied when the project is done, we want to be there to make sure our clients reach their goals. Rather than duplicate the traditional agency hierarchy and workflow, Anne wanted to see an agency thrive around relationships. Our team is rooted in agriculture, and each brings their own understandings, abilities and skills to the table for our clients. Rather than forcing a role into a box, we’ve aligned our team where their strengths and expertise help our clients grow.
This approach sets our agency apart from others. When our clients come to us with a project, they’ll get the best team members for the project, every time, rather than a set team. We believe in letting our skills lead first.
Through the years, Cultivate established its roots through innovative designs, captivating campaigns, event management and coverage, PR and agricultural exhibits.
Sowing a different path has resulted in numerous awards, recognition and honors over the years. Still, the most powerful is our long-standing clients we’ve partnered with and been able to grow together with. As we celebrate 15 Years of Cultivating Growth for Agricultural brands, we’re looking back on lessons learned, the fundamentals of marcomm for agricultural brands, and the friendships we’ve benefitted from. We’ve been blessed to help launch successful grassroots campaigns, brands and social media communications for many.
We’re incredibly proud of the many accolades and achievements in this time, including creating content that has gone viral globally for agricultural initiatives on social media, nation-wide branding campaigns, Checkoff campaigns and communications for several agricultural commodities, and so many projects that each leave their own mark.
We’re kicking off a 15-year celebration. We’re taking a moment to look back at all the lessons learned in marcomms, our achievements and accomplishments, and what the future for marketing and communications in agriculture looks like.
Our story is only in its beginning. On this anniversary, we want to thank everyone who has already been a part of Cultivate’s story. Now, we are excited to grow deeper roots and take storytelling to the next level. We always want to see continual growth; that’s the most important lesson for Cultivate: how/where do we grow from here?
